villescas rmi will be conducting a series of seminars across el paso and las cruces during the months of november and december to assist students who are applying to selective colleges and universities throughout the united states. these two hour vrmi seminars will provide students with a framework for (1) writing for the college admissions process, (2) the rigor of postsecondary learning environments, (3) conducting research about the borderlands as an undergraduate/graduate student, and (4) early preparation for enrolling in a graduate degree program by the fall of 2016.
the purpose of this upcoming seminar series for high school seniors is to prepare future graduates for the academic transition that is ahead as well as to familiarize them with how they can become active in their border communities as young intellectuals, leaders, transnational entrepreneurs and job creators throughout 2012-2025. overall, these vrmi seminars are intended for students who seek to apply their advanced degrees in a manner that benefits local and regional communities directly.
